More Than Just a Hot Meal

Nutritional Core

One hot, complete, home-cooked meal, five days a week (Monday to Friday). Meals are rich in protein and carbohydrates (chicken, rice, soup, plantains, spaghetti) to provide essential energy and fight malnutrition.

Supplemental

Snacks

Children receive an additional fortified snack on the two days they attend the center for spiritual education classes.

Culturally

Appropriate

All meals are 100% native and culturally appropriate, prepared by local women and caregivers who use familiar ingredients, providing comfort and stability.

Basic

Necessities

Your support provides the children with clothes, shoes, vitamins, parasite treatments and school supplies, when needed.

Emotional

Support

Your support provides lots of love, a strong sense of community, and fun through activities like arts and crafts, singing, playing and celebrations.

The Full Plate Difference: Beyond Nourishment

Our commitment goes beyond providing a meal.

We provide a customized, life-changing safety net that addresses the root causes of suffering.

Removing Education
Barriers

Education is the surest path out of poverty, yet financial barriers are immense. We ensure children have the chance to learn:

  • School Fees: We cover the cost of the small, yet often prohibitive, registration fees ($12 per semester) required for children to attend public school.

  • Uniforms and Supplies: We provide funding for the mandatory uniforms and the necessary pencils, notebooks, and supplies required for classroom participation.

  • Spiritual and Core Education: Children attend the center two days a week for supplementary educational sessions that include a Christ-centered curriculum and basic skill development (like learning the ABCs).

For families without health insurance or savings, a single illness or accident can be catastrophic. We ensure access to vital healthcare:

  • Preventative Health: We fund regular vitamins and parasite treatments (every six months) to proactively combat common illnesses that stunt growth and energy.

  • Emergency Funds: We provide immediate funding for all medical emergencies, including antibiotics for severe infections, surgeries for broken bones, and specialized treatments. For example, the program funded a child’s surgery and recovery for a severely shattered arm, preventing permanent disability.

  • Long-Term Care: We provide sustained financial support for children with chronic conditions like leukemia, covering doctor visits, medications, and the necessary transportation.

  • Hygiene Improvements: Funds are strategically used to address critical health infrastructure within a child’s home, such as building a functional bathroom where none existed, to protect vulnerable children from infection.

  • Special Needs: like wheelchairs and prescription eyeglasses.
